About me
About me
I am a trauma-informed specialist who is passionate about supporting children by helping parents, families, teachers and organizations implement trauma-informed practices and environments that create a sense of safety and connection so children can thrive.
My journey
My path into trauma-informed work began with my own personal experience navigating life while raising children who had experienced trauma. In an effort to support their healing, I did a deep dive in independent research and discovered that (at the time) there was a serious lack of helpful resources and information. That has since changed dramatically as brain science has advanced and given us fascinating knowledge about the brain and how it wires. At the time, I couldn't find anyone to help me understand the role trauma plays in relationships, learning, and human behavior. I saw firsthand how well-meaning professionals — teachers, healthcare workers, community leaders — could inadvertently cause harm simply because they lacked the language and framework to recognize trauma's footprint.
That gap became my calling. I eventually went back to school to get my Master's Degree in Education to become a Trauma Informed Specialist so that I can support others in how to implement trauma informed practices and create trauma-informed environments that support reaching our full potential. Over the past two decades I have taught elementary school, preschool, trained early childhood educators, raised five children, offered support to many parents, grandparents, adoptive parents, military families, and teachers. Walking through the world in a trauma-informed way can not only heal trauma but also prevent it by providing the safety, support, and connection humans need to thrive. I would love to support you on your journey, whether that be teaching in a classroom or parenting your children, supporting adult children as a grandparent or creating a trauma informed environment in your organization. Every person and every organization can benefit from trauma informed practices and spaces - from families to schools to law offices- to the person in line behind you in the grocery store - the way we connect with, respond to, and support each other can make all the difference!

Humans are wired for connection. Meaningful relationships are at the heart of healing and growth.
Agency and Choice
Restoring a sense of agency and offering genuine choice supports people in reclaiming their own voice and path forward.
Resilience
Resilience is not something we either have or don't — it is built through safe relationships, consistent support, and the belief that growth is always possible.
